We are now planning to introduce the new range of articles particularly focussing on CAT-2009 and this is the first important step for it. For those who have not given CAT-2008 and are wishing to appear for CAT-2009 I would suggest..boss start the preparation right now….because the earlier you start you are at an added advantage as this year almost 2.7 lakh students appeared for the test and next year i.e for CAT-2009 you can expect around 3 lakh students fighting for few thousand seats of prestigious IIMs. So gear up for the test right now and fight till the last because dreadly CAT does not spare anyone, it is the fittest that survive in the test.
As some of you would be knowing that CAT this year had no surprise in terms of number of questions but there was unequal distribution of marks among different sections with English having almost weightage of 45% which turned out to be 40 questions out of 90. So the lesson is you never know how the pattern will be next year, and the only way to perform best is BE PREPARED for the worst of situation.
Coming to the point now, there is a first step for you i.e. CAT-2008 paper which is provided exclusively for you all test takers. What you need to do is solve the paper in stipulated time period i.e. 2.5 hours in the test situation although you are not prepared for the test. This will enable you to benchmark where you are in terms of your strengths and how you need to improve upon your weak areas right from the beginning which will give you edge over others as they will realize this after they take first Mock test in the next year and may be that may be too late for many of them to improve upon critical areas. After you solve it once now give yourself infinite time and try to solve as many questions as possible. This will make you realize that the questions which are easy and we are able to solve in normal situatio, the same questions are not solved when we are under pressure and time constraint. So you can start practising solving questions under time pressure right from the beginning and then CAT-2009 will be like a routine process for you and you will come up with flying colours.
